The 12-Point Scoring Framework

Twelve weighted factors. One published yardstick.

No bonus ranks on our homepage without passing wagering-transparency checks. Each of the 12 factors below carries a published weight, and the totals are visible in the mini-bars beneath every offer card. We have graded every operator against this rubric since launch in March 2018.

Cluster 01

Bonus value & headline math

    Headline offer vs. real value. We score the actual bonus-to-deposit ratio a UK player can unlock, not the marketing figure. A "£50 bonus" with a £200 minimum deposit scores lower than a "£30 bonus" with a £10 deposit.
  2. 02
    Staking requirement realism. How much of the bonus must be wagered before withdrawal, and on which games. Lower and on lower-house-edge games scores higher.
  3. 03
    Bonus expiry window. We deduct points for offers expiring inside 7 days; full credit for 30+ days.

Terms transparency

    Wagering conditions, in plain English. We strip the T&Cs to one sentence. If the operator's headline claim disagrees with the small print, the offer is delisted.

    Minimum odds fairness. Free-bet and bonus wagering at min odds of 4/5 (1.80) or below scores full marks. 1/2 (1.50) floor only.

    Restricted payment methods. Operators that exclude Neteller, Skrill or PayPal from bonus eligibility are marked down and disclosed in the review.

    Max-bet and max-win clauses. Any cap below 5× the bonus, or a max-win ceiling under £500, costs points.

A published rubric is only useful if it is enforced. Here is exactly how often each offer is re-tested, who signs off the review, and what happens to operators that fall short.

“In 2016 I spent three months writing a Channel 4 News investigation into hidden wagering rules at UK bookmakers. The same four bonus terms — opaque rollover, restricted payment methods, game weighting and expiry windows — kept tripping up ordinary players. When we launched UK Betting Bonus in March 2018, the rubric was non-negotiable: if a bonus couldn't survive a published 12-point scoring framework, it didn't go on the homepage.”
